Switched to medium layer
After 5 or so years of sleeping with a firm layer over an extra firm base , I removed the extra firm layer and put a medium layer on top. It’s great! Extremely comfy and durable! I love Flobeds.

Back pain and especially rib
Back pain and especially rib pain kept me mystified for months as to what was causing it. I saw doctors, chiropractors, had x-rays but nothing helped or informed why I had the pain. That pain was gone the morning after I slept on our new FloBed mattress and it hasn’t returned! I love that my husband and I can tailor the mattress to our personal preferences. Highly recommend this mattress and the people who run the business.
Transformed & Renewed
Twenty years ago I bought a FloBed with a controllable air insert that finally stopped working, leaving me with a broken bed. To my delight when I phoned FloBeds for help, they offered a reasonably-priced, discounted replacement insert and made it for me. Three days later, I was sleeping on what felt like a new bed. We continue to love our FloBed
We purchased our first Flobed in 2009. We just upgraded with with a new mattress cover and an additional core layer and a vZone core layer. We love the ability to upgrade or replace as needed without having to buy a whole new mattress. It has been so worth the investment in our sleep health!

Custom topper saves the day!
We had bought a too firm mattress locally. We are both side sleepers and under 165 pounds. To mitigate, we bought a FloBeds convoluted topper, and although that helped somewhat, he wanted it firmer and I needed more protection from the underlying mattress. I tried sleeping on that topper doubled over, and it still wasn't enough for me. We ended up buying a firm and an extra firm core layer and a 3" topper cover, and we are each very happy with the resulting support and comfort. Some day we will buy a V-Zone! Mahalo FloBeds and all your staff!

Mattress topper good. Sheets terrible.
After owning an original Flobed for about 20 years, I bought one of the mattress toppers because my shoulders are aging and I’m a side sleeper. I began to be awakened everyday by my shoulder pain. I considered just buying a whole new mattress (one of the three layer ones), but I decided to try the mattress topper first to see if that helped. It did - a lot - as did a Youtube video on how to side-sleep by The Two Most Famous Physical Therapists On The Internet. I also bought a set of the 300 thread count sheets, thinking I’d need a really deep pocketed fitted sheet to handle the extra 3” of depth added by the mattress topper. I still have a set of the sheets the came with the bed that are in rotation, believe it or not. They are still great, so I figured a new set would be just as good. They are not. They don’t breathe at all, and sleep very hot. I called Flobeds and asked if I could return the topper, thinking it was somehow the cause of the heat. Of course they said no. I tried a bed pad under the sheets and it had no effect. So, just on a hunch, I tried the old sheets, and had no problems with waking up sweaty. It is the new sheets that are the problem. THEY DON”T BREATHE. I haven’t asked Flobeds if I can return them, because their likely answer is a resounding NO. I’ll probably give them away to Goodwill or something, because they are just non-starters for me. I just went out and got some 200 thread count cotton percale deep pocketed sheets for a fraction of what these Flobed sheets cost. You might want to avoid them, if you tend to sleep hot. They’ll just cook you.
Purchasing a new top layer
Purchasing a new top layer for my mattress after many years, made all of the difference for a better sleep.
Needed a replacement.
We recently purchased a replacement latex topper for our Flobeds mattress. This mattress is used as a spare bed, and it is nice to have the ability to get spare parts years after the initial purchase. We have enjoyed our Flobeds mattress and sleep very well on it. Our biggest problem now is enduring beds we come across when traveling.

Description
Every FloBed is covered in organic cotton and wool — a thick, sewn-in layer that does more work than a cover usually does.
Wool and cotton breathe. Combined with Talalay latex, which is up to seven times more breathable than other latex or foam, the cover is part of why a FloBed sleeps cool instead of trapping heat against you.
It also sits between you and the latex inside, acting as a natural barrier.
Both fibers are natural and biodegradable, in keeping with how the rest of the mattress is built.
Covers are made in six sizes — Twin, Twin Long, Full, Queen, King and Cal King — and four depths to match your mattress: 6″ Student, 9″ Select, 12″ Deluxe or vZone, and 16″ Big & Tall.
A FloBed is built from parts that can be replaced individually, so aworn cover doesn’t mean a new mattress. Covers are available on their own.

I ordered a second layer of the Xtra long twin mattress and deeper cover that fits two layers. For adults I had an Xtra long twin bed with three layers and I had a single xtra long twin layer stored under the bed for a 9 yr grand. Now I can mix and match to my needs. When my two teen age grands stay over they can each have a two layer mattress. One sleeps on the bed and the other on the floor. And the floor one tucks neatly under the twin bed and out of the way when not needed.

We updated our mattress cover when we added another layer to make it a big & tall mattress. All the layers fit well and the zipper is easy to close.

Slept well as always - going on 27 years
In 2005 we got our first Flobed it had the cotton non stretch cover and no V zone, so in 2014 we added the new Euro stretch cover and the new V zone and we loved it. So now its 2023 and we are in our 80’s - we stupidly did not get the mattress protector last time so we ordered a new cover and Medium cores to replace the Firm cores to sooth our old bones. So this will take us up to 27 years with our Flobed - we hope. Thanks Dewey for treating us like family all these years. One thing bugs me: if you google the best latex mattress, the best are always the cheap hybrid types with springs which S***. Its like the oldest real Latex bed company (Flobed) doesn’t exist.

If You Are Looking for a Bed That Lasts Decades, This is it!
We have had this bed for almost 20 years. As one gets older, bodies will change, and this bed allows for full customization, providing you with a multitude of options at purchase and any time after that as situations change. Extremely happy with our purchase (look at it as an investment in your quality of life) and Dewey is great to work with!
Initial trial of vZone
We just upgraded to a Big & Tall mattress by adding another layer. I am definitely liking the additional support and the VZone Soft is working out well for neck and back issues.
Love the V Zone layer
We purchased a pillow top Naturepedic Dunlop latex hybrid (8" springs bottom layer) bed. It came with two adjustable 3" interchangable layers. I tried all configurations that they offered in the layers, nothing worked for me. Hurt my back and felt too firm when sleeping on my side. My husband liked his side of the bed. I did not want to return the bed. I searched for a solution. I knew Talalay latex is more bouncy and not as dense as the Dunlop. I was so fortunate to locate Flo Beds online. I ordered a half size king V Zone 3" layer in soft (I'm 128 lbs). I unzipped the top cover on our Naturepedic bed and removed the 3" Dunlop top layer and replaced with the V Zone layer. What a difference it made. It helped with my pressure points and I slept great. Thank you Flo Beds for offering such a great product.

I love my FloBed! I had a slight problem with the original shipment but Dewey took care of it immediately. Customer service is excellent. I ordered the V-Zone mattress and am very glad I did. I made an adjustment to the original configuration and now I find it perfect. I look forward to going to bed every night now. Well done FloBed!
Great update!
We have had a Flobed for years and really liked it but it sagged on our individual sides. Replacing the vZone seemed like a good idea. We are very happy especially since I bought a softer section for my shoulder. There is still a bit of a mountain between us since the bed frame underneath is solid at that point. Not really a problem since we don't sleep in the middle. Having each side customizable is wonderful!

We've had a Flobed for 10 yrs. We sleep great every night. We are totally spoiled. No other bed comes close. When we travel, it's such a disappointment. We get sore spots due to the poor hotel beds. And these are good hotels! Love coming home. Sleep so well every night. Our guest room has 2 Flobeds so friends sleep well too. You'll never go back to any other bed!

I can’t imagine sleeping on anything else. I have a number of Flobeds and they are wonderful to sink into. Also, they are so good at helping you figure out right combination for you. I just got a couple of replacement pieces, since my needs have changed a bit, that were very reasonably priced. Accommodating and personal service!
Get this one, you won’t be disappointed
After over a year of trial and error with (I don’t even remember how many) other mattresses, this is the one. I was nervous to buy online without being able to test in person. However, their customer service is unparalleled. The product is incredible - the latex is the perfect combination of squishy comfort and resilient support, and all of the components are high quality. The customization with the VZone is unbelievable. I wish this had been the first mattress I bought; I would have saved myself a lot of money and stress. I will never buy another mattress from any other company. Flobeds for life. Do yourself a favor and buy this mattress.
Had to use memory foam to make it an acceptable bed to sleep on
We called two months into the trial period after trying every possible combination and movement of all the pieces. What we found was that both my wife and I ultimately needed a softer combination. We purchased the bed based using the softness customization tables when ordering, so to be clear, we followed the firmness recommendations. So before calling Flobed we inserted a temprapedic memory foam topper as the middle layer -we had bought it from Costco a couple years ago in an effort to improve the original bed we replaced. The memory foam made the bed significantly better. This was explained to Duey at Flobed and he sent us several softer pieces (v zone) to try. These were to make the top variable zone softer BUT the Bottom line is if we wanted to have two larger softer pieces we would need to pay for those. In the end, while the softer pieces were better it was not as good at inserting the memory foam. My bottom line is that for a $3500 mattress I do not think we should have to buy additional pieces. Period. We give it an OK rating because without the memory foam added we would have been forced to send it back. But with our memory foam self adjustment, it’s better than what we had. So we decided to keep it. But I would not recommend this to family or friends because in my opinion as stated, for $3500 two soft large pieces should have been sent. We did a lot of testing and self adjusting to make the bed acceptable and yeah we decided to keep it- but we should not have to pay for extra pieces to make the bed acceptable.

I changed from 22 years of Tempur-pedic to V-Zone and cannot believe I waited so long. Customer Service fantastic. Esp. the option to change V-Zone density when requested.
